i had a huge christmas suprise..my hubby saved and scrimped and bought me the most suprising gift! i swear i didn't see it coming i now have a sony clie personal oragnizer! in one hand... he shouldn't have spent so much, but on the other...i love it LOL!
and such a day! family and friends all over the place, we tried to take a group photo on the back porch of the beach house we were having the party at. but there were so many of us, the back pylon sank a few inches into the sand, sending us squealing and rushing back to sturdier ground
and the food...mmmmm there was so much to choose from i am soooo stuffed.
then coming home to check the guild the gifts and message from my secret santa, and wonderful collection for laurie!
i love christmas. i hope everyone had a wonderful day, full of loved ones and suprises

I was so busy today ... something about 5 kids ... a tree ... some guy in a
red suit and everyone expecting a gut busting turkey meal. Anyone else have
something similar today??
Add to the mayhem a windstorm that took out a friends power in the morning ...
once they got kinda cold and hungry ... they came over to my house and I cooked
them breakfast (just after I finished cleaning up after our breakfast!). Then
just after we finished eating our dinner with my whole gang our power went out
for the next 3 hours!

One of the members of the Wanabeez, dustdevil2001, has over these past few months become an intricate and fun-filled part of the guild.. as well as becoming a virtual friend of my own. For a holiday gift this year, and after having it duly approved , I decided to ask him whether he would like to join the "big guild" over here.
He, being as thoughtful as he is, answered me with the explanation that because he loves the Wanabeez and contributing to it so much, if he only had the one account, he would have to decline the invitation. However, he thankfully does have another: samhain2003.
And so, sometime in the near future, please expect to see and welcome a new member to our virtual Home! ^_^

Giftings in arms, love and holiday cheer spreading 'round, though still missing my darling snowed-in-in-Chicago, I sing along to the merry hilarity in the Hall and walk over to give BIG HUGS AND ODKAS to everyone~ Laurie, Tru, Pinks, Jade, Mel, VT, Cindy, Jubei, Terliss, Domestic, Puritanical, Yket, Jon, Sparky, Chris, Silver, Chelsea, Rowan, Jim who I envy for being 11 hours closer to Chicago than I although I'm loving being home , 'Ryn, Zeek, Fuzz, E, and I simply cannot name you all without running out of space..!
You all here have made my days in the Wizardhood absolutely phenomenal, welcomed me in, enjoyed my antics (at least mostly!), and all in all have become my family-away-from-home.

My computer was so messed. So,

Hi all...I'd like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a great New Year!
I haven't been on in a couple days and I'm sure I have alot to catch up on in
here. First though, I have to pay a little tribute to someone who greatly gives
this place soul, the top of many reasons I love staying here.....
Laurie, mother figure to some of us, protectoress of odka, and a mighty wizard
only a fool would rile up....I'd like to use one of your phrases that you're
so fond of using, because it helps me sum up what you mean to all of us. I for
one, but not the only onelove and appreciate all that you do for us and the
guild. You help make our home a happy place to escape reality from. I cannot
go on, for words alone do not convey how special you are to each of us......
Duvessa, I'm sorry I couldn't get this you like I said I would for the file

I can not see. You have no idea what you have done for me. I dont know if my gift of words can explain, but I shall try.
This year has not been kind to us. There is no gifts given this year, its simply not possible. This has broken my lifemates spirit, which, in turn, breaks mine.
Unable to look at my daughter's face as I explane for the 100th time that Daddy didnt ask that he be hurt like he is, and he's sad because he cant buy her a nice present. I run to my computer, I have to escape the world. Inside I find bottles of love, bears and keyrings from my 'girls'. I find faeries and foods and beautiful things from new and old friends alike.
Then I stop here, to create the illusion of what I wish for all of us, and I find the tribute. Now, I cry. Deep inside the sleeping dragon has been awoken. I only hope I can turn these off before Dean gets back. (somebody forgot to buy an onion for the stuffing)
::Bows deeply:: For reminding me of the reason, I can not thank you enough. I can hold my head high, and help my lifemate do the same. Its not the boxes and bows, its the love that matters.
You cant buy what we have, inside our home, with Zachary running wild, or in the BOFH. I have all that I need, and more...

two bunches of fuzzles strain under the weight of a platter of tradional main dishes, but wait! you must be warned that's no usual goose, it's of the silly variety stuffed with giggle mousse...two bites and you'll lose it and wiggle with glee, and lose control and start laughing manically.
and last but not least on a wagon is pulled, a gi-normous ice sculpture, all sparkly and jewelled. it's flavored with candies, and chocolate as welf (gratuituos rhyme here), and formed in the shape of our favorite kissmass elf! "it's lornie!" fuzzles cry, with glee in their hearts, our favorite xmas elf, who works so durned hard. to make our guild home glitter and magic for the season, who works her little fingers off...sometimes without reason. we love our odka so much, she's so dear to our heart, we can't thank her enough for her magical art.
thank you all my brothers and sisters so very much, this guild hall a special place in my heart does touch.
and now i must end this catalog of our feast, instead filling my belly with all of these treats. i'm afraid in this rhyming phase i may stuck, so i'll stand to the side behind our drummer duck!

fourteen and sixteen (fifteen is late!) saunter in with figgy pudding wiggling on a plate. no ordinary pudding this, let wizurds be warned, if you eat this into xmas elves you shall be turned!
ah, fifteen arrives kinda muddy from the bog, and upon his head rests a bowl
of egg-nog! so eggy and yummy, spiced just to taste, don't put it hot coffee

first fuzzle to arrive carries cookies galore - some will make you float a bit, some will make you snore. the effects of these cookies are varied and strange, who knows into what you wizurds will change?
second, third and forth fuzzles bow under the weight of platters of fruits
and sugared treats, magical stuff that i can't wait to eat. harvested carefully
from the land of the fae, and flown here by dragon - arriving today!

Laurie, Will requested to become my neofriend under his account ghoundai, just
after you sent him that cup of hot borovan for me, and we've spoken about new
things, how he's doing, when he'll beat Alombar, etc, and we somehow went to
the subject of neo-mothers.
He's made it plain that he feels that you are his neo-mom on neopets, and after
thinking it over a couple of days afterwards, I know it's true. Not only for
him, but for the rest of the guild members.
You seem to be always there when we need you, even if things aren't going too
great. You contribute a positive attitude to the guild when only negative ones
seem to reside, and you help others without hesitation (i.e., cup of hot borovan
for Will and Vas).
So in conclusion, I say thank you. Thank you for all that you've contributed
to the guild. Thank you for being there. Thank you for being so generous with

Well Now.... Hmmm.... So Sorry I have not been able to post much in the past
few days. Unfortunately I have had absolutly no time to get to a computer.
My mother took ill last Friday with Pneumonia and Strep Throat and I had to
take her to the hospital, She had to stay there for a few days and of course
I decided to stay there with her and try to make her a comfortable as I possibly
could.
Thankfully she is home now and should start getting better soon(fingers crossed)
or at least I hope so. I know that I am truly happy to have her out of the hospital
for Christmas it was kind of touch and go there for a while. So at least we
get to spend Christmas Eve and Day together at her house. I decorated her Christmas
Tree while she was in the hospital and I shall be doing ALL of the coooking
tomorrow. She was extatic when she came home and saw her house completely decorated
as well as a Christmas Tree in the living room all decorated to the Tee.
So I guess I can say that I am truly thankfull to be able to spend Christmas
Day with family and to have my health as well. To me those are the MOST important
things about the holliday season.
I would like to take this moment to wish ALL of my Guild Brothers and Sisters a
SAFE, HAPPY, & HEALTHY HOLLIDAY
Merry Christmas To All of you WONDERMOUS People that I have come to know here!

Okies, let me start telling all the cool things I got for xmas! I got...
1) to hear from alombar ^_^
2) the knowledge of my grades.. er, most of them were great! And then there
was Math.
3) to see my little brother!
4) totally stuffed
5) to see my parents come safely home from their hawaii trip.
6) souvenirs from said trip (coffee seeds to plant! imagine, growing coffee
in Alaska!),
7) to help about the house
8) many exuberant widdle baby kisses from my sweet puppy pixie who is now truly
gargantuan and takes up 2/3 of a couch
9) many more kisses from my other doggy Kita who is feeling sooo good after
all those surgeries!
10) to see christmas lights finally going up around my house.. we wait until
the last minute and, in accordance with my family's tradition for excellence
in lateness, they'll probably come down around March!
11) to hear that my ex-ex-ex boyfriend now friend is joining the army. Sweet..
he'll get a service medal right away just for joining during war time!
12) a whole 'nother day to go! I bet I'll have more presents tomorrow.

this hacking vs. cracking thing is very needed verbage that i am glad to have cleared up. aside from the fact that one really cannot use the term crackers as one would hackers(i.e. my friend is a cracker), it is still a good differentiation. (no, i don't know if its spelled correctly & really do not care.) neopets had become a relied upon venue of escapism for me. & if i cannot rely upon it as a somewhat "safe" place in which to do that drugs & alcohol may take over as my release valve. ok, probably not, just making a point. so, as neopets grows so should its need for security. just an opinion though.

Actually, my Guild Leader on High, They already have. TechTV, the leader in
technology news as it is today on modern cable, has clearly defined what is
hacking and what isn't. They are using your definition as hacking.
In short, true hacking is exploiting without destroying content or hardware. Those that have done true hacking are the individuals that normally go into either security for a company or are securtiy consultants. Well, most of them, I believe.
Whoever cracked into your account was probibly some jelous kid with a cracker program. You know, the kind you can get to find out access codes to "bad sites"
I think I've said too much, so I'll shut up now.

I could not agree more - and it is obvious: if you are the Master, you don't need/have to fight for minor issues like neopoints - there are more important issues to catch your attention (and time). Would you ever ask a Prime Minister what color should you use to paint your house?
Either we like it or not, 90% of all hacking issues around the world are caused
by either mistake (and unintentional hacking, usually ending by informing the
victim/target about their security holes) or ready-made scripts, freely available
on the internet (which is the majority of "on purpose" hacking, like
99% of DOS and DDOS attacks).
BTW, maybe we should separate hacking (exploiting without destroying) from cracking
(destroying), although this is trivial for some...

This, my friends, is what is known as a Skript Kiddie. They are wannabe hackers.
While smart, they don't want to go to jail, so they do stupid things like pick
on a game site like this one. Real hackers are respected individuals that know
when and when not to use their talents, as well as how to use them carefully.
If anyone is interested in hacking people (yes, real people), I hear that the
movie Catch Me if You Can talks about that some. Got to love social engineering.

As for security, I could probably be of help, but I have not received any reply
to my message, except for a "typical" one.
Well, about one year ago, someone that taught me quite a few things about this
game (and turned me into np-making) was hacked - and quit the game for good.
His username was twelveyards. He had suggested https (secure http) for the login
page(s) quite a few times but went unnoticed.
Now, I can see why neopets won't use a secure server: it is slow and the site
is already slow, especially some times of the day.
I don't know if there is any hint here... to speed things up and improve security
at the same time, is quite a task, if at all possible. After all, this is just
a free site, a game - why should they spend more?
((Yes, to remain respected, competitive with good reputation and such, but still...
security costs))
They should also do something about the login pages - there are some strings (and the backslash character) that, if used in the paswd, won't be properly recognized, thus locking out the account. I already have one account locked due to unrecognized paswd (it has not been changed, it is just "unreadable".
For the time being, I am waiting for the results - I hope both items and nps will be intact...

Heh..so..my secret santa seems to have been present for last year's thanksgiving

I somewhat doupt the hacker thing.. I see noone else of the main players, like
gemini or turtlebass being frozen. I think this is more like a system glitch
cause he did have some login problems a few days back.
Anyways, even if it is a hackers mischief, I still don't think he will have

Seriously everyone, chill . . . The proper authorities are on the case. Probably
a good idea not to contact the individual, but don't be worried about restocking
your shops or anything - There are people in the middle of nowhere who haven't
even heard of this and haven't been taken over at all. Remember, J00 all have

If you think that the staff, etc. are trying as you read this to track down
the individual (And probably plugged the hole where they got in.), it really
doesn't make a lot of sense for the assailant to come back and go after every
person who has ever attempted to Neomail Alombar. And that's a lot of begging

I plan to delete all of my cookies, and log out of neopets for once. I'm a bit worried about this too. Of two years using neopets, I'm actually worried that I might be hacked into. My hdiv account isn't worth much- I have most items and np in other accounts (my ss gifts are in a different account.
I just hope this adoinfo guy doesn't target this whole guild. It seems this guy is doing this just because he hates rich neopians. As Laurie suggested, please stay away from him. Don't neomail, IM, or complain about him on the chat boards.

Hey, are iMacs hackable? Wait, stupid question. EVERYTHING is hackable... even people (it's called social engineering, but that's beside the point)! I mean are iMacs easy to hack into? I remember there being a hacking contest and no one that entered was able or for that matter touched the iMac they had in the contest (the other computer was a IBM PC that was getting pounded!). Laurie.. you know, I think it strange, but all day long I have been getting errors from neopets where it takes me to a white page with several warnings written in progging code, such as "Warning: failed to call "xxxxx" from xxxx.xxx(xxx)" or "Warning: failed to initiate dice() during xxx.xxxxx_xxx" . Not the "errors" or the "temporarily unavailables," but something in javascript.
But I've not done anything concerning this adoinfo person, so I'm hoping it
is an unrelated incident. All I know is that some of my attempts to buy from
shops have returned this strange page, and some of my attempts to use the battledome
have also. I'm guessing neopets coding on these ones is the problem.. just letting
folks know if they've experienced the same.

I write the newsletter for my childrens Montessori school. So obviousle the
theme of the clip-art for this month was to be Christmasy. Now keep in mind
that this is supposed to be for the parents ... but I digress.
Scattered though out the newsletter was a christmas symol, candychan, raindorf,
polarchuck and several snowflakes. The kids loved it and because they think
its cool, it might actually get shown to the parents it was intended for!

I always seem to get depressed around the holidays.. But then I always remeber
how far I have come.
I am so greatful for being clean and sober, the help of my higher power.
I am greatful to have my wonderful daughter living with me again.
I am greatful that my Son gets to visit with me.
I am greatful for my husband
a home,clothing,food,a job,and the list goes on and on.. lets not forget this

Taking hold of the special delivery sent me by Pinks and Rowan, I peek outside, whistle loudly, and summon over a few minyuns.
Darlings.. do take this carefully over to the construction site, I will be there shortly. I've got some preparations to make.
Walking into my Quarters I grab a handful of Extra-Special-Gro-Dust, smile happily, and meander out to the site, where Sprocket and Gidget are cheerfully directing operations.
Sprocket hands me the seed, and I take it in my left hand. The dust I hold in my right. Reaching to the skies, I whisper,
Sky above and earth below, water to help this seedling grow, light and fire
to spark the life, and love so deep as to cut with a knife, together these powers
I call to me, to help to plant and nourish this tree, enchant this dust and
seed in hand with all your many auras grand!
Sprinkling the glowing dust upon the seed, I gently place it into the earth
where minyuns in grass skirts have chosen it to grow. They cover it with rich
earth and peat moss, and within moments (that's some great dust!) the seedling
begins to produce a sapling.
Little by little it shall grow, to serve its purpose well and provide a great many things to our Home. By this time tomorrow, we should be ready to move to the final stages.
Grinning and giggling, I walk back into the Hall and pour myself a nice tall Sour, awaiting developments and humming today's tune.

First of all, my sincerest apologies for disappearing. You know, going *poof!* and just kinda... being dead.... I've been getting so much homework that I just couldn't keep with everything. Now I have absolutely no social life whatsoever, and spend my dyas locked up in my little room doing stupid homework... And why? The teachers are all out to get me *hmph*
Anyways, I am back at least for the next two weeks, as it's winter break. Then, some time later, I will have a 5-day weekend and I shall be here again.... Anyone mind filling me in on all the fun I've missed?

D'oh I should have told you!
There is no wait on the slide! Whenever you dye Nevermelting Ice, it drys the moment the dye hits it. It's a pain if you make a mistake though, but it looks like I haven't with the rainbow dye.

:the 3 fuzzles stumble over each other rushing to get to Silver. Standing in
a stright line, backs straight they all yell in unison:

Get that ice sculputer...NOW!!
(arnt i soo mean? no..not really)
:the fuzzles return caring something large and icy. Setting it down next to the Xmas tree, they move it at Silver's comand till she finds it to be just right. Standing back, they all smile, and head up to her room again for a nap. The sculpture....:
A tall figure of ice and snow stands. The biggest part is a carving of Alombar,
holding a crystal ball iwht 42 in it. Around it is the face of every member,
smiling at the crowd of people, wlecoming looks on the faces. At the bottom
is Lauries poem from the front page, and underneith it reads "Merry Christmas,
or what ever special holiday you celebrate. May it be full of light, love, joy,
happiness, friends and family. May your wish come true this season."

*after talking to Ryan in private (thanks for making me feel better), he is pelted by a Rainbow Snowball from an unknown attacker ausing his cup of borovan to slip and spill into his lap!*
AAAAAAARGH!!! MY LAP!
*Thankfully, the snowball ends up cooling down the spill before any "damage" can be done. The only consiquence of the whole ordeal is that a portion of his robe is now blotted with different colors of the rainbow.*
Man is this going to be a pain to wash out.
...unless...
*eying the slide with all it's patrons now sliding down it gleefuly, he grabs the bottom of his robe and shakes the colors loose. The rainbow dye goes flying towards the slide making it look like the guild members now are sliding down a christmas rainbow!*
No, that wasn't magic, that was just something I saw on HGTV.

Having sent Cin her cup of hot borovan, Ryan finally takes a look around the guild. She smiles when she sees the new snow-band on the stage, and when she spots the almost-complete tree. Looks great!
Close to the tree, she spots a slide with "zeekslider" etched on the side. Ryan grins happily and zooms over to slide to get in line, grabbing a potato sack on the way.

First I blow my big change at fufilling my post-graduation plans, then I can't find a job because it's Christmas, then mom gets the word that she's getting laid off thereby canceling any further Christmas shoppping also thereby causing there to be the first Christmas we'll have without presents or decorations or cookies or anything, and now I, being the gullible wiz that I am, got had out of $200 only to look like a greedy little money grabber when I want it back. Why is it that I feel I deserve this?

Having come downstairs after a long nap in my forest room, I see the new slide and my new friend rowan enjoying it. I grin and run over to her, and grab a sack.
Suddenly I pause and look around, holding my hand out and looking around, as
if I were looking for something to measure. "Umm, am I...?", and the
jack frost welcome-snowman nods and I run up the stairs, having been assured
that I am big enough to ride.
Good thing too, 'cause this looks like great fun!!
Don't worry either, Rowan and I will be quiet goin down the slide so we don't wake Julune, whom I can't wait to meet.
Hmm, since my computer was down for a week could some one mail me what the advent calender gave. Well, the highlights anyway, I'm very curious as to what was given away!

Hmmmmmmmmm I have managed to build out of all them snowballs flying and lying around several different snowmans(grins). But now I am freezing and need to warm up. Tarbender may I have a hot coco with a shot of rumplemints Pleeeeeze.... I am such a pest(lol) I too love the sound of laurie's songs filling the halls. Wow I think i'll curl up by the fire..(zzzzzzzzzzzzzz)

Huh?! Where did this one come from?
*moves it over to the forgotten Chirstmas decorations that he has made. Why is the guild ignoring the fact I made them an Ice Slide? *
This should grab there attention.
*Placing the snowman right next to the stairs on the opposite side of the ice statue of Jack Frost, he puts a loud and bright sign in its hand as if it was protesting against something*
The sign reads:

Placing my lovely new Adventesque gifts upon my display shelves (i.e., my gallery), I stand back, look at them, and ponder.. for..
I Have No CLUES!!
Please, something, just a teeny little note..
Oh! And speaking of giftings, LOL, I feel so loved.. a few of the Wanabeez decided that I needed some new toys this season They, too, are on display now!
Meandering to the Bar, I stop and order some Cherry Coke, with a twist of lemon of course, for I've somehow gotten in the mood for carbonation. Excellent tune, Laurie. While there, I am tossed a fiery snowball globe by our darling and dearly-missed 'til now Terliss (welcome home!!), which I promptly giggle at and toss unto the tree.
Walking outside with Cherry Coke in hand, I come across the wafting scent of.. fried rice? Must be Pinks!

I wander in to the Guild, stiff and cold. Drinking my hot chocolate, with my
new Starry Blumaroo tucked under my arm and my new hat pulled down around my
ears. It is a good thing that I have such a wounderful Santa that would give
me something to warm up with; as I was caught unawares about a snowball fight
and have been frozen to my PC for days unable to even type HELP!!!
If I would have read the hints in that you left. (which I did not....hangs head
and mumbles about getting ready for Christmas)I would have kown that there was
an upcoming Snowball War and could have took cover!!!! But I didn't.......I
go to sit by the fire and let the rest of me thaw out as I play with my new
blumaroo. (Thanks ever so much I love it!)

there; I like to read a lot into things.
Haha, regardless, I appreciate each gift you've chosen so far. The green stuff,
of course, went into the Gallery. The others I am keeping safe until I can create
